As of 2025 we have 380,000 members in 100 countries on 6 continents, making us the largest police association in the world.

75 years of IPA

International Police Association celebrates 75 year Anniversary

It is 75 years since its founding by the legendary Arthur Troop on 1st January 1950. The British police officer established the IPA with the goal of fostering international friendship and co-operation among police officers across the globe. We are immensely proud of what the association has become today, with members from over 100 countries as we continue to strengthen bonds, promote professional development, and contribute to policing worldwide.
